Malton Forest Rally 2nd November 2025

A press release has been issued by the organising committee, as follows:

Press Release
For Immediate Release

Malton Forest Rally Cancelled Due to Ongoing Wildfires in Langdale Forest

The organising committee of the Malton Forest Rally regret to announce that this yearโ€™s event has been cancelled due to the ongoing wildfires in Langdale Forest. Following discussionswith Forestry England there has been significant damage to the forest tracks in the forest complex and this will not be repaired in time for this yearโ€™s event.

With no additional forestry land available to replace the affected stages, the committee carefully considered all options and concluded that it would be better to cancel the rally than to deliver a substandard event.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and their contractors for their tireless work in bringing the fire under control and protecting our local community and environment.

All competitors who have entered and paid will receive a full refund of their entry fees over the weekend. Refunds will be processed automatically, and no further action is required from entrants.

The club also wishes to extend its gratitude to the Bannister Family of B&F Potatoes for their continued support

While it is deeply disappointing to cancel this yearโ€™s rally, we are already looking ahead to the future. The Malton Forest Rally will return on Sunday, 1st November 2026, and we look forward to welcoming competitors, volunteers, and spectators back for a full day of exciting rally action.

To show our appreciation of the work they are doing in Langdale, Malton Motor Club donated over 300 bottles of water and isotonic juice to Scarborough Fire Station tonight. Club member Mark Simpson did the handover to club member & fire fighter Carl Studdard, who will be taking the drinks up for tonights shift. Fire crews from across the county have been drafted in to help. We wish them the best of luck

Well done to Mark for organising such a thoughtful gesture.

Radio Training Day a great success!

40 attendees were given training to allow them to maintain their signatures, or upgrade to the next level for Radio Operators on MSUK events. Many thanks to Malton Rugby club for the use of the facilities and the British Rally Marshals Club for the training session. A good mix of classroom and practical training was given and everyone appreciated the day.
