12 CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Marshals page
Marshals – please sign on via the rallies.info webpage. Without this you will not be covered by the event insurance. Link to each event is on the dates page (button below).
Please download and print out the “letter” from the button below, this is the correct description of the event you are marshalling on if anyone asks “what’s occurring?”
When you sign on, your email will be logged and used to invite you to marshal at future 12 car events (it won’t be used for anything else or shared with anyone else) If you do not wish this to happen, please email the co-ordinator to remove you from the list.
A few instructions:
Please ensure you sign on at the latest the day before the event, so that the organiser can be issued with a list of marshals, to ensure they have allotted them as needed – and make phone calls if short!
You will have been given an exact location for your control, and issued with a “control” sign. Please place the sign 50m (yds) before your control, ensure it is fully visible If there are any rises and falls in the road or random shrubbery ensure your sign is clearly visible at a distance! and ensure you are wearing hi-viz and your car is safely parked. Competitors should come to a full stop at the board, which is when you record their time. If they do not come to a full stop then, you record their time when they do eventually stop. Any drive that drive to erratically between the stop board and the control point should be reported and awarded a penalty. (only use this sanction as a last resort!)
When you get presented with a time card you should initial the code boards recorded, and the marshal instructions should tell you how many to expect, so if the time card has three code boards recorded and there should be four, then score through the space for the fourth and sign. (signature is initials in the little box) Example time card is accessible from the button below.
Times: The normal schedule for an event is as follows:
7:00-7:30 everyone meets up and marshals are sent off for their posts… hopefully the route to the posts is shorter than the competitors route!
7:45 car 0 leaves MTC1 so should arrive at your point 16mins before car 1.
8:01 car 1 leaves
8:12 car 12 leaves
8:32 Over Time Limit (OTL) at MTC 1
You should have been issued with an expected time for your marshal point, so please be set up and ready 20m before car 1 is due.
Your marshal point close time is either once all cars have cleared, or at OTL, 30 minute after last car due.
